Our New Artist of the Year Prediction

cmas

We are in into the fourth quarter of the year and that can only mean one thing, AWARDS!! We are so excited about the CMA’s tomorrow that we thought we would share with you who is on our watch list for the “New Artist of the Year” category.

First on the list is Kelsea Ballerini; you may recognize one of her debuting title’s “Peter Pan”. Why we love Kelsea is because of her passion for kelsea ballerinisongwriting. At SnapJam, we encourage the artists to design create and make their own music and lyrics, specifically with LyricGenie.  “Country’s Next Queen” as she is being dubbed by the industry has created quite the buzz amongst her female counterpart; being  “she’s the first solo female artist in 15 years to hit #1 with her first two country singles and one of only 11 women to have ever hit the top of the charts with a debut”.  If you haven’t seen her in action, check out her debut video, Dibs.

Brothers Osborne is a nice brother duo with sounds coming out of a sleepy town in Maryland, who really were born with the perfect gifts of voice and instrumental skill. They combine those to create a very bluesy tone, described by them; “It’s like an old-school rock approach”. Often country music is crossed over by a little rock and roll and we love the combinationbrothers osborne2 of background steel guitar mixed with deep string undertones. These brothers not only look the part of country and clean cut lyrics colliding they express it so well with their melodies.  Those are the types of sounds users of SnapJam are enjoying working into their own songs as well and the results are so sweet. Enjoy this video of the Brothers Osborne below and you decide for yourself if you think they will walk with away with the hardware for New Artist of the Year.

Last but not least on our list is Old Dominion, who in our book is slated to win big but we could be surprised, just as their nomination was to the industry. We couldn’t be more excited for this type of group to break into the scene. Why do we have a hinkling for them? We love that they really know how to place lyrics with old southern back notes saddled with a side of rock as well and still stay on trend. With their great success we can’t help but notice. If the Beastie Boys and Alabama had a band child they would get their clothing style from the Beastie Boys but their group closeness and blend from Alabama’s early days… don’t believe us, just check them out!

So stay tuned to our FB & Twitter pages as we wait to see who will get the trophies tomorrow evening during the semi centennial CMA’s and for up to date info coming straight out of Nashville!!
